Stars for the New Millennium by Tony Minieri

Come and stitch on the next square, or just come and enjoy an evening of stitching.  We are already working on the second half of the piece, and everyone seems to be enjoying watching the patterns emerge in the different colorways.  Please join us for a fun evening of stitching.

This month will also signal the beginning of the Gay Ann Rogers Mystery Sampler, Mystery in the Corner. Jane has agreed to be our liaison with Gay Ann and will bring the patterns to the meeting to be distributed to those of us who have bought them.

Also, we will have a short workshop on laying Japanese Silk on congress cloth for anyone who has signed up for Kay Stanis' class at retreat and has never laid flat silk on canvas before.  If you are interested in learning this technique, come to the meeting and we will give you the silk and a piece of Congress cloth.  Please bring your own stretcher bars, laying tool and usual stitching supplies.

Another Month, Another Star

We will continue working on Tony's Stars for the New Millennium.  This is month number 9, and we will be covering the stitching on one more star.  Come and check out our progress (mine is not as good as I would like), and the fun color combinations that people are using.

We will also be hosting another short workshop on laying flat silk on Congress cloth.  If you have not been able to come to one of the first two programs, please join us tonight.  We will give you the silk and a piece of Congress cloth.  Please bring your own stretcher bars, laying tool and usual stitching supplies.

It is also time to start thinking about the Americana Sampler which we will be working on in the New Year.  It was published in Needlepoint Now in 5 issues back in 2006.  If you do not have the issues that the sampler is in, they are available from Needlepoint Now for $30 for all 5 issues.  Please sign up at one of the meetings, or e-mail NGM to get copies of the magazine.  Please e-mail NGM by Oct. 31 that you want the magazine.

August 21

Stars Revisited

We are going over the stitching for another one of the Stars featured in Tony's piece.  There are not many more to stitch, so I hope that people are enjoying working on the piece, and will be able to come and show off their progress.  In addition, please bring in your retreat projects and show us what you worked on out in Buffalo.
