Falling for You Necklace, Part 1
We will begin a year-long study of beaded ropes using different stitches with the book Beautiful Beaded Ropes by Jill Wiseman. Our first oject is the Falling for You Necklace, pp. 27-29, using the spiral rope stitch. It features two different-sized beads in the spiral loops so you can see how the look of the spiral rope changes with bead choice. You will need the book, 18 grams of size 6 seed beads, 8 grams of size 11 seed beads, 36 of 6mm glass pearls or beads, 170 of 3mm glass pearls or beads, two 8mm diameter glass spacer beads, 3 focal beads between 18mm and 25mm in diameter, clasp, size 12 beading needles, 6 lb. Fireline or size D Nymo thread, and the usual beading supplies.
Welcome all beaders! This special interest group explores the various bead weaving techniques including peyote, brick, herringbone (Ndebele), right angle weave, netting and square stitch using the many types of beads available.
This group meets monthly on the 2nd Friday from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.
