Daytime Stitch-In

February 27 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Have you wanted to learn huck weaving? Viki B. will present a history, description, and examples of huck (Swedish) weaving along with instructions on what kinds of materials to use and how to do the stitches and read the charts. Then, those who have signed up can start a small project on a kitchen towel, using Sue Meier’s pattern for Autumn Windbreak, from Nordic Needle. The towels are off-white and will be available for purchase for $6.00. Supplies are limited.  Reserve and pay for one online (below) by February 23.  If more are available, they will be made available at the meeting.
You will also need a size 22 tapestry needle and three skeins of DMC floss. We suggest that one of your flosses be DMC Variations or Variegated and the other two complement the Variations or Variegated floss. Sue Meier has 3 suggested colorways:

  • Autumn – rust and gold DMC 4130, 782, 920;
  • Sunrise – blue and green DMC 4030, 993, 793;
  • Sunset – blue and purple DMC 4215, 3836, 793;
  • or pick your own DMC Variations floss plus 2 coordinating colors.
  • Viki will also have 10 colorways available using DMC Variegated floss that she pulled from NGM’s donated stash.

This larger group setting provides exposure to a range of fiber arts. This format includes:

  • Lectures
  • Presentations
  • Hands-on Projects

Programs may be different from the Evening Stitch-In.
