Beading: Twisted Peyote Beading Pattern, Part 1

  • Fri, February 12, 2021
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Today we will be learning a new way to construct beaded ropes. The Peyote with a Twist (PWAT) stitch, originally developed by Gerlinde Lenz, resembles the look of bead crochet but is stitched up with a modified peyote technique. The pattern we’ll be using has been designed by Cara and Lane Landry, the price is $10.99,  and is available from https://www.etsy.com/listing/733519355/peyote-with-a-twist-pwat-tutorialdiy

We will stitch the beginning strip of flat peyote and begin the twisted section; in May we will finish the rope and attach the clasp.

For a bracelet with a diameter up to 8.5”, you will need the following supplies:
•A copy of the pattern
•One size 8 bead for stopper bead
•5 grams size 11 seed beads, color A
•5 grams size 11 seed beads, color B
•3 grams size 11 seed beads, color C
•2 grams size 11 seed beads, color D
•Clasp
•Favorite beading thread, equivalent to Nymo size B or D
•Size 10-12 beading or sharp needle
•Usual beading supplies

This group meets the 2nd Friday from 10am - Noon.
