Evening Needlepointers: An Open Discussion about Openwork on Canvas; Designer Highlight

  • Thu, October 21, 2021
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

When we think of openwork - either drawn or pulled thread - it’s usually in the context of linen or another fabric that has a soft “hand” so the warp and weft are readily malleable. The sizing in canvas makes these techniques more difficult. Are you one of the brave few who have attempted openwork on canvas? If so, please come to this meeting with your completed project/WIP or a photo of it. Be prepared to share with us the challenges you encountered, and how you overcame them. We’ll assess the group’s enthusiasm and possible options for a future openwork on canvas program.

In addition, Jeanne Çur will lead a discussion of tonight's  highlighted designers:  Libby Sturdy and Janet Zigler Casey. Bring any completed works or WIP by these designers to share with others.

LOCATION:   We are temporarily meeting by video conference due to COVID-19.  A link to connect to it is on the Member Resources page.
