Daytime Stitch-In: Kim Sanders - Smocking Review, History and Contemporary Applications

  • Tue, April 26, 2022
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

While smocking is a beautiful form of embroidery, its original function was to add elasticity to garments. Portraits from centuries past show smocking used to gather fabric at the neck and wrist of shirts. However, it has the potential for many other applications.

Kim Sanders, a former member of our Guild, now living on the East Coast and teaching across the country at seminars, is our presenter. This presentation, enhanced with photos, will explore several types of smocking. Come and expand your understanding of the possibilities within the world of smocking.

LOCATION: We are temporarily meeting by video conference due to COVID-19.  A link to connect to it is on the Member Resources page.
