RETURN TO THE FULL CALENDAR
We will be starting the beautiful “Christmas Bouquet” stumpwork piece featured in Inspirations magazine #88. It is a three-dimensional sprig of holly, ivy, and winter roses attached to the top of a 3.5” (9 cm) glass bauble. We will start with the ivy leaves and continue with other elements in following months. If you’ve wanted practice in working with wired elements, here’s a good opportunity!
The directions suggest using Au ver a Soie stranded silk, but cotton floss would be equally lovely.
To get started, you will need a 6x12” piece of green cotton fabric, 26 gauge beading wire or green floral wire, 2 or 3 values of green silk or floss, 4” or 5” hoop, fine fabric marking pen, and wire cutter.
We can share! The supply list describes the greens as very light olive, 2 values of hunter green, and very dark privet! If you can’t locate a copy of Inspirations magazine #88, a digital download of the pattern is available for $9.99 on the Inspirations Magazine website at https://tinyurl.com/2whpnmrk.
This group meets monthly the 3rd Tuesday from 10 am–2 pm.
