Evening Needlepointers: Adding Creativity to Canvas

  • Thu, September 18, 2025
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Hybrid

Viki Bosin recently acquired Sue Leeper's copy of "The Liberated Canvas, A creative approach to canvas embroidery", by Penny Cornell, copyright 1995.  In it, the author covers ways to embellish your piece by:

  • modifying canvas stitches or using stitches that are not often used on canvas,
  • by machine or hand stitching fabric to your canvas,
  • by dyeing the canvas or your threads,
  • by using wrapped stitches or wrapping your threads
  • by using embellishments including beads, buttons, paper, dollhouse or scrapbook miniatures, etc.

How do you add creativity to your canvas?

This group explores a wide variety of specialty threads and stitches on canvas including counted needlepoint and finishing techniques. All stitchers welcome.

LOCATION: The meeting is planned to be hybrid. Those meeting in person will meet at MVUUF and those on video conference will find the link on the Members Resource page of the NGM website.
