RETURN TO THE FULL CALENDAR
Salley Mavor is a visual artist who wrote the Wee Folk series. She will talk about her 45-year career creating imaginative miniature worlds with 3-dimensional embroidery. This is an opportunity to take a behind the scenes peek at Ms. Mavor’s unique way of working and learn about where it came from, how it’s evolved, and why she does it. See more about her work at https://weefolkstudio.com
The presentation will cover a wide range of artistic endeavors, from children’s book illustration to stand alone artwork to stop-motion animation, demonstrating that there are no limits to what can be expressed with a needle and thread.
Jane Tracy is bringing in her collection of books, illustrated by Sally Mavor, with photos of her embroidered creations. If you have any books with photos of embroidered illustrations, or any children's books that use needlework, quilting, or fabric, as part of their illustrations, please bring them to this meeting. This is also a challenge check-in meeting. Bring your challenge piece to show your progress or sign up for a 2025 challenge.
This group meets monthly on the 4th Tuesday from 10am - 12pm
LOCATION: The meeting is planned to be a hybrid. Those meeting in person will meet at MVUUF and those on video conference will find the link on the Members Resource page of the NGM website.
