Daytime Stitch-In: EPP Part 1: Tips, Tools, and Tales from My Descent into Madness!

  • Tue, September 23, 2025
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Hybrid

What comes to mind when you see the letters: EPP? Is it Enhanced Profile Protocol, Erythropoietic ProtoPorphyria, or Extended Projection Principle? These are just three of the many ways this initialism is used, but on the quilting front, EPP stands for English Paper Piecing.

At home or on-the-go, EPP is a fabulous way to occupy your time with a threaded needle. Once you gather your basic supplies, projects involve wrapping fabric around paper templates that can then be hand-sewn into intricate designs. This seems simple enough, doesn’t it? It really is unless you do too much research and find yourself mired in the options relating to fabric, thread, tools, design, and technique. This is when process completely sabotages progress!

Join us in September and October as we explore everything Kym has learned along the way in her Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt project journey begun in 2011. September will include an informational session with examples for you to compare and contrast. In October, we will take what we learned in September and put it into action with a hands-on session.

Hopefully, you will benefit from her tumble down the slippery slope of research so you can complete your future quilt in less than 14 years. Have you already completed an EPP project? It would be wonderful to learn about your experience and see the fruits of your labor. Please bring any and all EPP projects that you have finished or have in process so we can celebrate you and your abundance of EPP - Extra Patience & Perseverance!
